METRO LINE SINGLE RELEASE PARTY

Come help celebrate the release of "The Metro Line," the new single from the Super 92! This song will be featured on the upcoming record Two Sides of the Super 92, hitting the streets April 19, 2019. “The Metro Line” is a country tinged, tongue-in-cheek take on the foibles of Edmonton’s most notorious light rail transit spur. It has already won acclaim as one of the Top 5 finalists in ATB’s All-Albertan Song Contest. The Super 92 promises a fun night of humour, snacks, and great music. Presented by Bellevue Community League.

"THE METRO LINE IS A TOTAL DISASTER," SAYS LOCAL BAND

Few statements garner unanimous support, but in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the headline above is met with 100% approval. It is a sentiment that crosses political, class, and cultural divides.

What is the Metro Line? Well, it is an example of good intentions
gone wrong. It started when the City Mothers and Fathers decided to upgrade public transport with a new rail transit spur. With their hearts in the right place - but their money in the wrong - precious dollars were sunk into bad contracts that spawned week-long traffic jams, and comically slow trains. Several years after its “completion” the line still makes notorious headlines that frustrate and amuse Edmontonians.

It is these feelings that the Super 92 tap into on their new single. “The Metro Line” perfectly captures the contempt and bemusement of a bamboozled citizenary. Although the tracks lie in Edmonton, this story and song are universal.

Everyone everywhere has their own Metro Line.
